The “Murph” is a special workout named after Navy Lieutenant Micheal Murphy who was killed in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. Navy Lt. Murphy was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor after his death for his heroic efforts to call for reinforcements after he and two SEALs were trapped by Taliban fire on a rocky mountainside. Risking his life, he walked into a clearing to get reception on his satellite phone, and was shot. He made a successful call despite being wounded, and still showed the courtesy to end the call by signing off, “Thank you.” Then, rallied the courage to continue leading his SEALs.

This workout is based on his favorite. He called it “Body Armor,” because he would wear his armor while working out. So, we invite you to join us in honoring ALL the brave soldiers who’ve lost their lives for this country by working out with us. If you have a twenty-pound vest or body armor, we invite you to wear it.
